  • BELIN, The Sun. God of Faith, Virtue, and Strength:
    Belin is depicted as an aged, but powerful man with gray hair and flowing beard. He wears no armor and he shows off his well built frame.
    Due to his truce with Chellos, Belin’s followers are slow to be involved in battle with followers of Chellos. Associated with the Sun.

Alignment: Good

Domains: Artifice, Fire, Good, Healing, Protection, Strength & Sun.

Followers: Commoners flock to Belin, as do all good classes. He has a temple in every major city and at least a small alter in town, village, and hamlet. The followers of Pelbian, Teryn, and Diakris pay homage to Belin.

Holy Symbol: Sun

Holy Day: Belintine 21, Summer Solstice.

High Temple: Grenadier, Grand Duchy of Grenadier.

Favorite Weapon: Heavy Mace.

  • ANDURA, The Moon. Goddess of Nature, Balance and the Harvest:
    Andura is portrayed as a matronly woman with long flowing brown hair. She believes that good and evil are both important aspects of existence. Her followers co-exist with other followers easily. She is associated with the Moon.

Alignment: Neutral

Domains: Air, Animal, Community, Darkness, Earth, Fire, Plant, and Repose.

Followers: She is the most common diety in rural communities. She has the most temples in Alyssia, but many of them are very simple and plain. Every agricultural community has a temple to Andura, no matter how small the community. Additionally, it is not uncommon to find alters to her in the middle of nature. This does not mean that temples are not found in major cities, as many are found there. The followers of Ferian, Nobnar, and The Missing god all pay homage to Andura.

Commoners in rural areas pay homage to Andura as do Druids, Rangers, and other followers of nature.

Holy Symbol: Moon.

Holy Day: Andurtine 28, Harvest Festival.

  • CHELLOS, the Night. God of Darkness, Death, and Disease:
    Chellos is depicted as a tall, gaunt man with thinning, long gray hair. Due to his truce with Belin, Chellos’ followers are slow to be involved in battle with followers of Belin. He is associated with the Night.

Alignment: Evil

Domains: Darkness, Death, Earth, Evil, Knowledge, Rune & War.

Followers: Chellos is the only evil god who is openly worshipped. His temples are found in the major cities, but there is a stigma attached to his followers. Therefore, much of his worship, like the other evil gods, is done in secrecy. Only the devout will openly wear his holy symbol in public. Many evil individuals will worship Chellos, including representatives of all evil character classes.

Holy Symbol: A circle that is completely black.

Holy Day: Chellosine 17, Day of the Dead.

High Temple: Westsage, Corisand.

  • DIAKRIS, The Lion. God of Courage, Justice and Valor:
    Diakris is portrayed as a handsome young man with piercing blue eyes and long golden hair. He wears shining, ornate silver platemail with shield and he wields a longsword. Diakris is associated with the lion.
    Diakris is at constant war with Veronus. Although they do not actually battle within the heavens, they actively work against the other. The result is that the followers of Diakris are immediately at odds with the followers of Veronus.

Alignment: Lawful Good

Domains: Glory, Good, Law, Nobility, Protection & War.

Followers: He is worshipped by good individuals everywhere. His temples are common in cities and tend towards almost opulent splendor. The church is the wealthiest of all the churches. Much of these riches come from the tithing of Paladins, who give as much as 50% of their treasure to the church. It is a lifetime goal of most Paladins of Diakris to build a temple or improve upon a temple.

Paladins, Monks, and other good character classes worship Diakris, although most worshippers are lawfully aligned or bent towards law.

  • Pelbian, The Huntress. Goddess of the Hunt, Wit, and Scouts:
    Pelbian is portrayed as a young, beautiful woman with braided blond hair. She wears studded leather armor and carries a glowing composite long bow. She is very intelligent with a wry sense of humor. Pelbian is associated with The Huntress.
    Pelbian is at constant war with Jaydal. Although they do not actually battle within the heavens, they actively work against the other. The result is that the followers of Pelbian are immediately at odds with the followers of Jaydal.

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Domains: Animal, Chaos, Liberation, Travel, Trickery, and Weather.

Followers: Pelbian is a common deity, but is more commonly worshiped in rural areas rather than urban regions. However, she has a strong presence in cities as well.

Commoners in rural areas pay homage to Pelbian. Rangers and Barbarians are the most common classes who follow Pelbian. Additionally, bards and some rogues are found among her followers.

  • Ferian, The Fountain. Goddess of the Waters, Health, Life, and Love:
    Ferian is portrayed as a serene woman with black/blue hair. She wears no armor and is often thought to be the most beautiful of the gods. Ferian is associated with The Fountain.
    Ferian is at peace with the other gods, although she at times is annoyed with Nobnar. Their different philosophies causes friction. This attitude is copied by her followers.

Alignment: Lawful Neutral

Domains: Community, Healing, Knowledge, Law, Travel, & Water

Followers: Ferian is a common deity in the coastal and river cities. No sailor would think of departing on the waters without some prayer or offering to Ferian. She is also commonly prayed to in hospitals. It is said her water is healing water.
Other than monks, there is no one class who worships her more than another class, although very few Barbarians and rogues are among her followers. In Ferian’s place, the location is more likely to determine her followers. Most of her clerics hail from the island countries of Pania and Oberon as well as the Reaches to the East.

Holy Symbol: A Fountain of golden water spraying upward.

  • Nobnar, The Whirlwind. God of the Storms and Magic:
    Nobnar is portrayed as a young man with wild eyes and disheveled hair. He has reddish hair that flies in various directions. He wears scale armor and wields a lightning-javelin. Nobnar is associated with The Whirlwind.
    Nobnar is at peace with the other gods, although at times he is annoyed with Ferian. Their different philosophies causes friction. This attitude is copied by his followers.

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Domains: Air, Chaos, Destruction, Magic, Water, & Weather

Followers: Nobnar’s followers mirror those of Ferian. He is mainly found in coastal areas where storms are frequent. Whereas many pray to Ferian to keep the waters calm, others will pray to Nobnar to send the storms elsewhere.

  • Jaydal, The Horned One (Goat). God of Power, Mercilessness, and Conquest:
    Not much is known of Jaydal. He is always portrayed as a horned man who is otherwise very handsome.
    Jaydal is at constant war with Pelbian. Although they do not actually battle within the heavens, they actively work against the other. The result is that the followers of Jaydal are immediately at odds with the followers of Pelbian.

Alignment: Lawful Evil

Domains: Artifice, Charm, Evil, Knowledge, Law, & Magic.

Followers: No one openly worships Jaydal; however, signs of the goat have occasionally been found almost everywhere.

Holy Symbol: A Goat’s head.

  • Veronus, The Demon. God of Absolute Destruction:
    Not much is known of Veronus. She is always portrayed as a frightful woman.
    Veronus is at constant war with Diakris. Although they do not actually battle within the heavens, they actively work against the other. The result is that the followers of Veronus are immediately at odds with the followers of Diakris.

Alignment: Chaotic Evil

Domains: Chaos, Darkness, Destruction, Evil, Madness, and War.

Followers: No one openly worships Veronus; however, signs of the Demon have occasionally been found almost everywhere.

Holy Symbol: A circle with arrows pointing to eight different directions.

  • Taryn, The Dragon. God of Righteous Power and Justice:
    Taryn is a warrior. He is portrayed as a handsome man in a gold breastplate with several weapons at his side.

Followers: Taryn is worshiped throughout civilized Alyssia. Many worship him believing he will come with his dragon servants and destroy all evil.

    Malum is a mage. He is a young man wrapped in rich robes and gold dragon cloak.

    Ashtark is portrayed as a young, disheveled woman. She is free spirited and loves adventure. She is considered a new god and is popular in the Eastern Reaches.

Followers: Ashtark is worshipped along the eastern coast by a few individuals. She only has some shrines.
